The company I work for is hiring a PT person to cover the hours of 1-5 PST. This is a legitimate work from home job. You must be computer literate and have some knowledge of networks. You must live in the USA. A helpdesk background or customer/software support or legal background are all major pluses. Although they are gay friendly they are a very conservative company. You must be able to do a few short travel trips a year. If you would like some more info please let me know. I don't know what the pay scale is or if there will be any bene's...thats up for any applicant to negotiate You must be professional and have the ability to keep information confidential. There are a few states where they will not hire from. You must have decent internet (not dialup)and a phone with unlimited in state long distance. (they reimburse)

My Agency currrently has one part time position open in the Hayward/castro Valley area, CA (East Bay Area). The position is a social work type position and doesn't offer a lot of hours to start, however, it is a good foot in the door. If you are interested, please send me a private message with your contact information.
Thank you! and good luck hunting in a truly horrible economy.

Looking for a job?

I looked for a thread like this, but didn't see one...

My company (which offers domestic partner benefits equal to spousal benefits, and has both sexual and gender identity as protected groups in the workplace....and is just flat out gay friendly) periodically posts job vacancies.

Just this morning, they posted that they're in desperate need of:

Healthcare Specialist to work directly with customers, translating data into layman's terms. Ideally, this person will have consulting, banking or healthcare in their background. It's located in/near Nashville.

Anyway...I thought it would be nice to have a place to post these kinds of opportunities.

If you want more info on this one, please PM me and I'll pass along the website link for application. :)

Thanks! I plan on moving to FL end of next month so this helps. There have also been kind people here at BFP that have linked me with other sites for jobs and house / apt. rentals so I appreciate all the information I can get. If anyone else has information on jobs in FL, please let me know. Thanks.

I have a spot in interview that has been a bit of a sticky place for me,at the end of the intervew the intrevewer ask..do you have any questions for me?
This deserves as good an anser as I can come up with, but there are times I just dont have an idea how to anser him/her,just what can I say to respond to there question.Im shure im not the only one that this has happened to,so this may help others as well.

ruffryder 07-31-2011 12:45 PM

I hear you. Good question! You don't want to ask about benefits, pay already in an interview that's for sure. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask, "When might I expect to hear from you?" and maybe, "Are you hiring at this time?" and if they aren't, maybe you can ask, "When might you be hiring again?"

What does everybody think, Is that okay to ask? Then you have an idea and if you don't hear from them then you can pursue something else.

i know exactly how you feel ... that is usually the most awkward part of the interview for me (after "tell me about yourself" part!). sometimes i like to ask if they have a lot of applicants applying, how soon the position will start, the basics. also, if i can i usually do a little research on the company just to have a general idea in case they ask me if i know about them ... so in that case you could ask any questions you might have about them, what/how they do things, etc. i found this link to a good list of several questions you could pick from to try and remember to ask so that you don't have to draw a blank for them. i think they like being asked as it shows further interest on your part. good luck!
