What is that about?
Eyes meet across a crowded room,
And the whole world falls away?

Is that how it's supposed to happen?

It's what I always assumed.

That it would feel a bit,
Like being struck by lightening.

Isn't that what it is?
Isn't that how it's usually described?

No one ever told me,
That it isn't always like that.
I never knew, that when it happened,
It would roll over me like thunder.

Isn't it supposed to burn?
Isn't it supposed to be fierce and frightening?

The stories never say,
That it's like falling into a cloud.
That it's the heat of passion and the calm of comfort,
And I never expected this.

Shouldn't I feel doubt?
Shouldn't I feel fear?

Instead, I feel serenity.
It's unlike anything I've ever dreamed of.
It's not what I thought it would be,
But it's the best thing I've ever known.

Held for the first time in arms meant to hold me,
Kissed for the first time by lips meant to kiss me,
Loved for the first time by a heart meant to love me,
And it rolls over me like thunder.

Heat licks our skin like flame,
Thoughts whirling
Senses burning
Eyes meet with wonder
Light flickering against walls
Two shadows reflected
Tumbling together
As bodies merge
Joining

Heated passion fills us with
Breath heaving
Voices pleading
Crashing together
Like ocean against fire
Elements of power

As steam rises
