This deserves as good an anser as I can come up with, but there are times I just dont have an idea how to anser him/her,just what can I say to respond to there question.Im shure im not the only one that this has happened to,so this may help others as well.

Here is the idea behind that question...

You are interviewing the company just like they are interviewing you.

A couple good questions to ask are (In your own words):

What is the company retention rate?
What is the enviroment in the dept/company? Is it social or production minded? Is it laid back or is there an undercurrent of we need to get this done NOW!... (example... I'm very work oriented... I don't fit into a company where employees spend a great deal of time hanging at the door of my cubie wanting to talk... I don't motivate well in a office that works on Island Time and there is no presure or deadlines)

What does the interviewer like the best about the company?

You can ask questions about the charities/causes the company supports... If you have done your homework about the company, you will know what they support....

I know for me... If I'm not happy at work, then I'm not going to stay... It's best to find a company that is a good fit...

Anyone near Decatur, ILL or Springfield, Bloomington?? or that area surrounding Decatur?
I have a friend that's losing her job next week. she is looking for office work. she worked for ST. Mary's hospital for almost 11 1/2 years working in office there.
She has a Bachelors Degree in Marketing Management, would like something in that field possibly. She desperately needs to keep a job so if any one knows of anything in her area or even some other websites to check other than monster or career builder, please PM me and I will pass it on. Thanks.

You know, more than once I have thought about being an over the road truck driver.

Dunno why. Just like I think about other careers. I guess because I started so young in my profession.

Wouldn't leave at this point, though.

I think it is great that you posted this job in this thread.

Mac's List (Portland, OR & Beyond)

Link ~~>>> www.macslist.org

I subscribe to Mac's List for job listing opportunites with private employers or agencies at city, county or state levels. Mac's List is an excellent resource and provides a wealth of information, such as:
  • Career Change
  • Resume Tips
  • Continuing Education
  • Interviewing Tips
  • News articles pertinent to employment trends
  • Job Seekers over 50
  • Internship Opportunities (for those enrolled in school)
  • A weekly newsletter + more
Job opportunities found on the Mac's List website are not jobs you would find listed elsewhere on a public job seekers board like Craigslist or Monster or LinkedIn or InDeed. Mac's List provides the opportunity to find work in niche markets for a highly skilled workforce. In my situation, I have limited experience in my new field of interest - so it may be a while before I find work. But if you have a moderate level of experience and are seeking a career change or a new job in your field of interest, I recommend looking into announcements for job offerings on Mac's List.
