Humbled by the out pouring of love for a friend that passed recently and suddenly. She left a wife and child, and a whole community better for having live among us. Today was her memorial, and the theme over and over was tell the people you love that you love them, cause today maybe the day. Tell them they matter and the largest theme was keep risking love, love hard, love deep.

the ocean. being out in nature.

watching my father as he ages...gone are the strong arms that use to lift heavy items and replaced are the tattered muscles of a man who worked hard his whole life..gone is the thickness in his stong neck and replaced by the wrinkles of age..gone are the muscular thighs that use to bounce me to a giggle frenzy and be the seat in which I sat when I needed just that spot on my daddies lap..gone are the strong amazing hands that use to lift loads and loads of laundry daily and haul it to and fro..replaced by liver spotted hands that still have strength..gone are the shoulders of a man who carried the weight of his world..replaced by the hunches caused by the burdens of his time...

but I am most humbled by his ability to still make me laugh from the deepest part of my heart that will always love him for the strength he has passed to me....

I am truly humbled by a man who has given me this life...

I love you dad!

I am humbled by the uneven block of flagstone in my neighbors walk. Damn thing always brings me down to earth when I trip over it.

Also by the quality of light when it's just about to rain here in Denver. Magic.

My sweet Ladybug... 11 1/2 year old corgie mix...who has battled with a skin infection for 2 months now... She is such a good sport... even when she has to have her iodine baths.. I just hope the new tar shampoo the groomer suggested helps with her itching... poor baby... thank goodness her hair is growing back in and she sleeps more peacefully lately..

Gosh I dont know what I will do when that sweet girl of mine passes.. I have had her since she was 5 months old...

What humbles me
 

....by weightlifting, my sport. Truly, there ain't no such thing as strong unless I can open a new pickle jar.

I am humbled by the amount of knowledge out there just waiting to be discovered and shared

I am humbled by the hardwork of line cooks everywhere. I recently had to perform that job...and it was hard. I will never be a chef that doesn't treat line cooks with repsect and admiration.
