Gun Hill Road (movie about transition from family view)
I just saw an interview with one of the actors of the film and it sounds very interesting. The film is about an ex-con who comes home to find the son he knew is now his daughter and what it's like from the family point of view to deal with transition. I know it's premiering here in L.A. area later this week.
It also made it to Sundance and was a nominee by the Grand Jury so it sounds like it has great promise. |

I can't wait to see this! I hope it opens up how culture weighs in on how transition affects all involved.

WOW - this is beautiful. I am hoping this makes it to New York soon. Would definitely make the trip into the city to see.
Thank you Linus! |

another one
I hope I'm not too diverting too far off topic, but this weekend I saw Beginners, (really excellent) before which the trailer for Pariah was featured. Like Gun Hill Road, Pariah also deals with the subject of identity transformation within family (in this case, as a masculine presenting lesbian).
