Cause of death is to be determined

I read somewhere that it's apparent suicide. Given all that he went through, it sounds like life was a challenge for him. Lots of thoughts to his friends and family at this time.

I agree Linus

Prayers to his friends and family

But why? I mean as trans folks we have to overcome alot of obstacles to get to who we want to be, I guess maybe I don't understand why some end their lives when they have so much to live for.

Well, my understanding is that he transitioned to a woman and then transitioned back to a man (more recent -- last couple of years). It definitely sounds like someone who wasn't fully comfortable in their own skin or, at least, didn't know how to define themselves in their skin.

(note: my POV) And while we have much to live for, it's the things that we cannot live without that sometimes overwhelms a person to attempt or commit suicide. I say this as someone who has been there in the past. It's really easy to become swallowed up by grief, fears, uncertainties, etc. The challenge is finding a way to survive all that, focus on what we have, come to terms what we don't or find a way to address it (e.g., the "don't have" could be the result of death, change in relationship, lack of funds for surgery and lack of job, etc.).

But for now, we should remember the person and keep thoughts for the family. It's hard to comprehend the kind of pain that the family goes through afterward. The question of "did I just miss the obvious??" comes to mind and it's not an easy thing, IMO, to address or come to grips with.

Agreed

I just find it sad another Trans person is gone from this earth

Linus,

I think you should post something along those lines in the trans thread. So many rumors about how folks can change, and transform their bodies is not as easy as alot of people think it is. It is a battle of the medical community, politics, and religious organizations fighting us. It is a war of kinds. :playingchess:

My brother, Jay, suicided because he was bullied in school. Kids belittled him because he wasn't this or that.

We all have seen it online at one the time or another. Many are now famous because of what they have posted.

When someone kills themself because of others lack of love, I interject myself. I have lost my brother because of ignorance.

Let me get off my soapbox now.

FYI for those interested. Pam's House Blend regular poster Autumn had an interesting piece on "detransitioning" and the potential causes of it. Definitely worth a read.
