Wine "What's Your Taste"

Inspired by the Beer "What's Your Taste" thread...

I've never been a beer drinker and couldn't be if I wanted to as I have celiac disease but I do love a good glass of wine. Red, especially. I like cabernet, merlot, pinot noir, and shiraz.

What about you? Any fellow "whinos" in the house? ;) :wine:

Gewürztraminer

German, sweet, delish

Red or I won't drink it.

Merlot has antioxidants! :wine: I consider it important to be heart healthy while I pickle my liver.

PurerSands 11-17-2013 05:38 AM

Merlot is always a safe bet for me. Although my favourite would probably Wolf Blass White. Sauvignon Blanc :wine:

A good French red when finances allow - Chateau Neuf du Pape one of my favourites.

Like the bubbly.

Champagne is my beverage of choice when not imbibing on some rockin' micro brews we have in Wisconsin.

I know, I know, let the cheese jokes commence. :)

Champagne close enough to wine to respond in this thread?

This is what I know about wine: It's made from grapes and it tastes good. I grew up having wine with food and that is still a preference.

I like a buttery Chardonnay. A rich Cabernet Sauvignon. A smooth Chianti. I'm always up for a great Champagne or Prosecco.

Cheers!

Of course! You can even talk about sake and sangria in here if you want. ;)

I'm almost exclusively red. Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz are my favorites.

If I'm drinking a white, which is rare, I'll only drink Pinot Grigio

Malbec.
Any Argentine wine is where it's at.
I love red wine- but white wine is good for Sundays or a morning drink.

Our likes are the same...right down to our preference for white wine... :)

I would like to add that a nice Moscato in red or pink....and blackberry wine, specifically from the Duplin winery in NC, is a long time and eternal favorite....

I am totally cheap too. I am HAPPY to drink Barefoot 5.99 a bottle merlot. I seriously can't taste a diff between real wine and gas station wine. Save your cash on me.

Three-buck Chuck shiraz. Yum.

I have a thing for a honey meade made by Winehaven, a local vineyard here in MN. Otherwise I prefer sweet over dry when it comes to wine.

Gemme 11-18-2013 05:46 AM

I love a good merlot.

Barefoot Pinot Grigio is my go to wine. When only a red will do, I prefer a Cabernet.

Barefoot wine has never disappointed. Theirs is the moscato that I love. Their sweet red is sooo tasty. I've tried cheap wines that were nasty, and pricier wines that I hated. Barefoot wine is good, no matter what I choose. Their pinot grigio got me drinking white wine on occasion again. And it's what I get when a recipe calls for white wine. It won't just sit in the fridge afterwards fosho... :wine:

I will ALWAYS endorse and buy from local wineries. Wherever I go I try the local stuff. Here is one near and dear to me...

I'm so glad I went to the site! They have sangria Sundays there now. <3

Random PS.... before the people bought this place and made it a winery, it was just an abandoned house. I have explored every inch of the front part of the property...I am so pleased they fixed the house up and made it pretty again :)
