House Headaches
 
I imagine that there is a wealth of information among everyone on this site in regards to house maintenance and issues. I am hoping we can tap into that knowledge. So come in and ask away.

My question has to do with driveway seal coating. I had my driveway seal coated 4 hours ago and then a storm blew through and it poured. Am I going to have to get it seal coated again or is it ok? I hope someone knows!!

Depends on if it was completely dry at the time it rained. If not you may have to reseal it again. If so, nope.

The driveway was so saturated I am hard pressed to believe it was dry. I imagine I'm going to have to get it done again. Darn.

Here's a good way to tell. Tomorrow make a wet patch with a hose, if oil glistens on the patch, you will have to redo. If it had dried the oil would not come up. It may have dried, but check with the people who did it and see what they recommend. Sometimes you can get away with just doing it again next year if you don't have some guarantee.

I will try that. I am getting ready to put the house on the market and the driveway was one of the last things I wanted done to look good. :(
