The killing of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe has caused pretty remarkable international outrage, with lots of anger directed at the Minnesota dentist who shot and killed Cecil.

The dentist apologized and said he relied on the expertise of his guides, but now he’s found himself a defender in Ted Nugent.

Nugent, who’s on the NRA’s board of directors, said in response to questions from Facebook fans that the whole thing is silly and a “lie”:
