The Girl King, 2015, with Malin Buska
Based on the true story of
Queen Christina of Sweden. She ruled during the 17th century when Protestants and Catholics were at war in Europe. She was an educated woman who was likely lesbian and possibly butch. She had a femme lover and was continually pressured to marry a man.
It wasn't a great movie but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the story unfold. The acting wasn't bad but it was cheesy at times
. It was nice watching her move around in men's clothing, too.
And it was really nice watching a woman outfox the domineering and patronizing men in her life.
It's inspired me to read more about her.
