This song to me, shows how we can't run from patterns established, different name and a different place. In the end you take yourself with you and until that pattern is broken and healthier ways are practiced with self-worth embraced often one will continue the same pattern and end up in the same situation.
On a positive note it appears that in the present she is in a healthier place, based on the interviews I did catch.
