Default Second note for Greco.....

I did some research today, concerning the Adagio in G Minor because while listening to this arrangement, I kept wondering where I had heard it before.

It turns out the Remo Giazotto, an 20th century musicologist, studied the Italian master of baroque, Tomaso Albioni. There's a bit of scholarly debate too, because this arrangement, although its true author is Giazotto, is most often misattributed to Albioni. Giazotto also studied and wrote an biography on Vivaldi (The Four Seasons ).

Check out the link below, because wayyyy down the list is a citation of works where this baroque arrangement of Adagio in G Minor has been used in film, tv, and covered by other artists.

In particular, Adagio in G Minor appeared in funeral scenes of HBO's, The Sopranos.

That's exactly where I heard it before, on ....The Sopranos.
