This post is sort of a dedication to women of early R&B.

1. The great Faye Adams best known for "Shake a Hand" and "Hurts Me to My Heart"

2. LaVerne Baker's who had hit recordings of "Jim Dandy" and "Tweedle Dee"

3. The legendary Ruth Brown who was also known for "Shake a Hand",
"Mama He Treats your Daughter Mean" and Chuck Willis' "Oh What a Dream."
Honestly, I prefer Patti Page's cover of "Oh What Dream" just because of the heavy jump brass arrangement.

Anyway, here they are—three great ladies of early R&B: Faye Adams, Ruth Brown and LaVerne Baker.
