Miserable. We’ve been having a record-breaking heat wave. It hit 111 F in my city on Thursday and the air conditioner’s not working. Finally a repair person came by yesterday and of course they want thousands to fix it. I’ve called two more repair people to get more quotes but who knows when they’ll be able to get here.

It’s between 84 and 92 degree indoors with all the fans on. I’ve had windows and shutters closed for days. And I’m tired of the darkness, too. I’m up at 3am on my day off to open the doors and windows to cool down the house. A friend has invited me to stay at her place, but I wanna be home on my days off!

I haven’t slept well and have not checked off any fun things or work chores on my list. All I can do is sit here and sweat.

I could always go to work to cool off.

Grumpy doesn’t begin to describe how I feel.
