Default Thinking of hooooooooome!!! <3 Savannah, GA <3

Moon River -- Henry Mancini

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me...

Is Moon River a real river?

Moon River is a real river in Savannah, Georgia, where the song's lyricist, Johnny Mercer, grew up. ... At the time, the river was known as The Back River, but was renamed Moon River in honor of the song, and Johnny Mercer's home along the river became known as the Moon River House. >>

*** I grew up doing a lot of fishing, crabbing, shrimping (with a small john boat and a cast net) swimming and "mud bogging" on Moon River, so this song has a very special meaning to me, connecting me to my childhood memories, my loving family and a way of life that is no longer. other than in my fondest memories. ~ Theo
