My son was here today ( a brief visit ) and we were discussing Helene and how lucky we are living in Kansas. We could never imagine having winds of her strength with drenching rain for hour upon hour! Granted we have our rain storms with winds up to 60 mph with heavy rains-BUT not at the duration you all went through
