I've been watching some very heavy, emotionally wrenching series lately, and I definitely know what you mean by needing "to clear the thinking fog".
I found just the thing! I've been watching the series
Younger on Netflix. It's about a woman in her 40s who goes through a divorce with a gambler, while her daughter is just leaving for college. She had quit working when her daughter was born, and finds herself suddenly broke and needing to find a way to support herself and pay for her daughter's college. She moves in with an old friend, an artist in NYC, and looks for a job in publishing. Unfortunately, no one will hire her after 18 years out of the publishing industry.
She is mistaken in a bar for a 26-year-old, and she decides to make herself over and applies for jobs as a recent college graduate. She is hired; shenanigans ensue. The writers were able to come up with many plot twists, for much longer than I thought possible. There is also a good bit of lesbian action and plot development (her artist roommate is a lesbian).
I would recommend this series for anyone who needs some mind clearing from heavy, stressful content.
