Good morning and Happiest of Holidays! Holiday traditions have changed over the years. To me its the traditions that have turned into precious memories.

Growing up, it was the wonderment of waiting for Christmas day to arrive. We had a real flocked tree with a light wheel attached to the wall. It was a beautiful site until we re-named it the disco wheel! Lol. We would sit around and look at all the presents and try to guess what was under the paper and ribbons. My Mom always had ribbons on the presents. Christmas morning we were always awake at the crack of dawn.

As we got older and moved away, we would always return back home Christmas morning, but not so 'Crack of dawn' time! We would drink mimosas and nibble on my Mom's homemade fudge and goodies. My sister in law would bring over tamales. Oh, how I miss them! After breakfast we all would go off to other family members homes. In laws and such.

When my parents moved out of state, Christmas became so different. That was hard for me to recover from. I missed my family.

Now a days, being by myself, I still seek out the holiday spirit. I continue to decorate and reminisce with the ornaments I carry with me. I surround myself with my friends ( even tho they live a far). Not many presents are bought. I tend to treat myself. I still bake up a storm with Holiday goodies and share with Co workers and neighbors.

This year I went to Disney and saw Christmas there. Yesterday I helped wrap presents for Cops-N-Kids. And last night I was on boat in the boat parade! I still surround myself with Holiday spirit to keep my mind happy during this time of year. I suppose I'm learning to appreciate life more and more. Also this year will be a new memory that I'm wishing.( well I know) I can look back and say..that was the year I beat Cancer!
