I am my Father's daughter
Breakfast with a stranger.
We went down to the hotel lobby for the free breakfast. Well there is also a tour group staying here, so the tables were all full. One lady was just reading her paper, taking up a table for four and another gentleman was just having coffee, at a table for four. I was grrrrrr. The gentleman having coffee saw me trying to find a table for me and The Boy and offered that we could join him. What wonderful company.
Turns out he is a native to Savannah (he was in his early/mid 60s, and I'm pretty sure gay). He is one of the tour guides for the group. What a witty, honest, open wealth of information. He recommended a restaurant that we will have lunch at today that was an old bording house and still serves meals at big tables where you gather with new friends. He told us the best place to catch the dolphins over on Tybee Island....for free. Told us stories and 'inside' history about Savannah. Just a truely delightful gentleman.
Made the entire trip! What a positive way to start the day. May his hospitality and kindness be returned to him ten-fold.
