when i was about 15, i went for a haircut at my local salon. the woman gave me a very crappy haircut, referred to me as male the whole way through, then did a doubletake, realised i was a girl and charged me the female (higher) price. after a complaint, she charged me the lower (male) price ... it made no sense to me at all.
