I've now read this entire thread.......and here's my take on the day.....

Yes, there is war and hunger and poverty and politics and tornadoes and death and...and...and.....

And for one brief moment, can we not have a little romance and fairy tales? Am I burying my head in the sand over all those other 'ugly' bits of life? You damn well better believe I AM, because in the midst of all my own personal junk called 'Life', I NEEDED a bit of the romance and fairy tales and a good, somewhat old~fashioned Love Story.

I NEEDED to giggle at some of the hats. (I'm fairly certain Beatrice & Eugenie left their make~up on from last night and just rubbed their eyes this morning....what was THAT? lol )
I NEEDED to have tears well up in my eyes over William's and Kate's love for one another.
I NEEDED to hear that lovely music ~ chamber orchestra, boys choir & trumpets ~ and oo and ah over the magnificence and history of that cathedral.
I NEEDED to try and read their lips over those sweet, whispered comments.
I NEEDED to see those hats, silly or otherwise.
I NEEDED to see those balcony kisses, 1 & 2.
I NEEDED to have JUST a few hours of forgetting that other 'stuff'.
I NEEDED to escape the cynicism just for a brief while.
I NEEDED the beauty and grandeur of it all.
I NEEDED to be proud for them, knowing that Diana was ~ WAS and IS ~ smiling down on her son.
I NEEDED to be proud, also, of my Scot/Irish/Welsh heritage.

So some of Y'all can pooh~pooh me all You want. I'm ok with that. I own my romanticism.
