Seems weird to me. Bad enough kids today cant spell, or construct sentences to say what they mean, or conjugate verbs properly. Now we wont teach them how to write? And this helps them compete in a world economy how?
We have a second year law student *clerking* in our office. That would be, he has completed 5 years of college and is entering his 6th year. He saw me typing an envelope yesterday and asked me what I was doing. (typing an address) Him: Why did't you just print a label? Me: This was just as quick, if not quicker Him: Is that electric? ok, I let that go....later in the day I overheard one of the attorneys say to him *What did you write on here?* and he said what ever it was....then the attorney said *Are you left handed?* Him: No, Why? I told him, because we can't read your handwriting. It's true they don't write. He'll send some one an email, that is 6 desks away. Makes me crazy.
