This just sucks.

If there is a way to use regs to screw people and save money, it will be done. You would think if anyone gave a shit they would anticipate all the ways the regulations will be abused and close up the holes beforehand. But clearly no-one is remotely interested and that is made infinitely clear considering they have had legislation in both houses to fix this that were ignored.

I hope they succeed in getting this changed.

We really need to guarantee health care for our citizens. It is possible. Many countries do it. And the lie that socialized medicine means poor medical treatment is just that, a lie. I know from personal experience living in Montreal. Medical care is awesome. And knowing no matter what happens you will be cared for is priceless.

I think it's hard enough to be sick. I think the aging process takes enough of our dignity from us. It really shouldn't cost the sick, the elderly and the dying everything they have and then some to get the care they need. They shouldn't lose their savings for retirement and their homes. And neither should families have to sacrifice everything to get medical treatment for a family member. It's just wrong.

It's scary to be sick or elderly in the United States of America unless you are quite wealthy.
