Good point, Julien—perhaps I generalized on too narrow a base of evidence—I was just talking about photos, which IMO are often, but not always, very serious—a quality I find appealing.

I have also, I admit, done a certain amount of intelligence gathering over time. Single or partnered, looking or not, my appreciation of and delight in butch women never wanes.

In my family, people show affection by dryly teasing each other, and that's how I show someone I like them, and it's also how I flirt.

I don't, btw, assume that's a femme-trait at all. A butch who catches on to me and teases me (gently), about the things she sees that others miss, really zings me right in the heart.

Flirting is most productive IMO, when people have some kind of aesthetic common ground, in the way they communicate.

Bonus point for question asked! Now I have to think of my own questions...
