Well according to the Big Brother audience it's because Luke 'Wants to be him' and 'Because he was born a woman'. It's still the idea that a transman is somehow inferior and is naturally 'looking up to' the almighty cisgendered man, when we all know that transmen are usually far more mature and knowledgeable than any cisgendered boy of the same age.

And THAT is why it's hard for me to watch reality shows that are primarily for the hetero audience (that include LGBTQ peeps). Trans or gay folks are usually put there for "shock value" and ratings rather then a genuine interest in understanding us. Programs that center around LGBTQ lives/struggles/etc. are easier for me to watch because I don't usually have to worry about my blood pressure rising due to preconcieved notions from people who have no clue what the hell they're talking about.
I dunno if I'm more mature or knowledgeable but I do know what it's like to have preconcieved notions attached to me merely for how I look. I've learned to ignore it for the most part but shows that do shit like above tend to send me into a grumbling state of agitation. Lol.
