*raises hand* It was kind of hard not to know about it, with the constant radio and tv spots about it 2 or 3 years ago, and even the interstate traffic alert marquees still broadcast reminders. New to Georgia, maybe?
I don't know the speeds, though- something like 15 or 20 mph over the posted speed limit? I've been lucky enough not to find out. So give us details! How much is the fine? If it's any consolation, the money collected from fines is supposed to go to trauma centers to take care of people injured in car wrecks
Here is some strangeness from my week:
My neighborhood has an email list that posts all manner of questions and concerns, from "when is recycling day?" to "was that a gunshot I just heard?" Anyway, three days ago, someone sent out a post titled "Stop chasing the white rabbit!!" I thought maybe it was a "don't do drugs" message or something, but no, it was a literal demand. It turns out that the guy who owns the house next door was ticked off that on two separate occasions, two different women came in his yard to try to catch a white rabbit, and he didn't want them on his lawn (he didn't seem to care about the rabbit, he just didn't want any unannounced neighbors on his lawn).
I started off reading this email thinking the title is about drugs, then I'm thinking the guy who wrote it must be on drugs, because the whole thing is just so bizarre....I mean, two different neighbors chasing a white rabbit on two different days, but the SAME lawn?? Oh, and did I mention the house is right NEXT to mine??
So yesterday, it was about 7 AM, I was pulling out on my street to go to work- I drove past my neighbor's house, and guess what I saw right smack in the middle of the front lawn? Yep, a fricking white rabbit, bold as a bolshevik, just sitting there. WTF???
Oh, and I saw it again this morning. Same lawn, but this time it was in motion. I feel like I'm on drugs.
I REALLY want to know what the deal is with this rabbit. Is it a pet rabbit so well trained that it stays in its own yard? Is it an escaped pet surviving on cat food? Is it a wild rabbit with a really unfortunate choice in fur color? So. Fucking. Weird.
All I can say with certainty is that I'm not going on my neighbor's lawn to catch it.
