TGIF...
Would have been cool to have gotten together this weekend but I am booked solid all the way through.
If anyone is just milling around looking for an event there is the Greek Festival in Decatur on Clairemont Road at the Greek Orthodox Church. Music, dancing, crafts, food...food...more food. They have a drive-through beside the church if you don't want to actually participate in the festival itself. (yes, I did get my Greek on for lunch today...yummy!)
Also Historic Oakland Cemetery is having a Victorian Street Festival on Sunday. Artists, musicians, food vendors, actors and storytellers dressed in Victorian garb. A really neat time to tour the cemetery. Aa well....they are now selling tickets to the night tours at the end of the month/Halloween. These are awesome and always sell out in advance. You are taken on a guided tour at night and storytellers are dressed as some of the interred residents. Not a "boo" and scare you experience...but really neat history about Atlanta, etc. Several of the mausoleums are open as well with beautiful stained glass, candles, etc. and this is the only time of year they open those areas for viewing. Well worth it if you have never been. (and yes, I do have a thing for old cemeteries....)
But whatever you may do....enjoy a great weekend!
