I'd love to get rid of my cable and I may one day. I have roku but my TV is internet ready so it has lots of its own apps. I also have kindle fire and often watch movies on it. Netflix has apps for almost every reader and tablet now. I even watch Son's of Anarchy on my iphone!

This, for me, exactly. Well, except for the Son's of Anarchy thing. And I read (but haven't yet investigated) that Amazon now has an app to let you stream their movies on an iThingy.
Also, if you BUY a movie from Amazon's streaming library, you can both watch it online any time and download the file to store on and watch from your PC or other device.
If you're a student (or just have a .edu email address) you can get Hulu for half-price. I haven't been watching them much but that may change once I drop cable, since according to friends who watch it regularly they're great for recent TV shows.
And I'm going to put in a plug for my cheesy current favorite dance movie which features a baby butch/femme love story, called Leading Ladies. Don't expect an Oscar winning script or acting, but if you enjoy cheesy old movies (especially old movie musicals) you'll love this. Plus it has two really fantastic dance scenes.
