Sat and stared at my screen a few minutes, recalled laughing and joking around in the hall with her a little over a week ago. After that, of course I went into denial and decided it was not going to be true. Feeling relieved, I resumed coding a routine which is my bullsh*t to self ... sort of like nervously whistling in the dark when you know you are still scared.
Went and found Ricky. She supervised his team. He was in his cube for once. I asked him if he had read the email sent from the front office a little while ago about B.J. ... he turned around from his computer screen ... I saw his face, then I knew it was true ... I walked away .. hot burning tears and a softball in my throat.
Makes me sad. And I am feeling terribly weird about this tonight. It will settle in time.
