Where I would smoke a full cigarette and feel satisfied for a while, I have experienced an urge to vape one time, but frequently. So, a different pattern is set with the e-cig. I don't know what factors contribute to this. It could be the nicotine level is not high enough. It could be the loss of satisfaction of continually smoking a full cigarette. It could be the lack of other chemicals from cigarettes that contribute to my addiction to nicotine because I do think those other ingredients in cigarettes strengthen your addiction. It may be a combination of all 3.
Does this sound familiar?

I vape pretty much all day, it is either in my hand, or next to me if I am awake. I personally feel that despite the level of nicotine that I have in my juice, it is not delivering it to my body in the same manner a cigarette does, and that must be why I use it more often. I have no way of knowing if this is true, but it feels right.
Here's an experience I expected, but didn't expect to have with my mother first (though I should have known better)...
My opinionated mom says to me:
"You probably aren't going to agree with me but...Dad and I were out to dinner the other night, and I saw someone with their electronic cigarette, and they were just waving it around nonchalantly. Like they were rubbing my nose in the fact that they could smoke indoors. I just think that is crass!"
It annoyed me. I love her to death, but mom can annoy me from time to time. So, I said to her...
"Mom, my ecig is helping me not inhale the smoke that can cause me lung cancer. Nothing else has worked. I know that you are happy that I am not smoking, can you not place yourselves in their mother's shoes, and be happy that they found a solution for themselves?"
and Mom says...
"I think it is great that you quit smoking, but you're not planning on "vaping" forever. Are you?"
and I said...
"Mom, I have been smoking since I was 13, this is the only thing that has worked for me. While I may not use nicotine juice for the rest of my life, I may very well continue to vape, if it keeps me from desiring a cigarette. If another person vaping is not having an effect on your health, why do you need to complain about it? Why not be happy for them, or at least be pleased that they will not be a part of the reason our health care costs keep going up? Just think of me, whenever you have that thought."
