Thanks all for the constructive advice. No, I wasn't actually being serious - so I feel a bit guilty now. It was a failed attempt at self-deprecation i.e. suggesting that I lack a grounded reality


Don't get me wrong, I would actually really like to have a lap-dog. However, it's not a realistic option in the next few years. More importantly, same as I wouldn't actually base a relationship choice on a lady's lasagna-making skills or her ability to clean a bathroom, I wouldn't either on her aptitude to mind my dog whilst I'm out working
