There are a few things in life I take very seriously: family, friendship and love being the top three. Along with those are the words 'I love you'. I rarely believe someone when they say them because too often I have been told those three little words and then been let down terribly. I almost never say them and, until now, I have only ever loved one woman.

I do love another one now and it's taken me by surprise and scares the hell out of me. I can't explain why I love her but I know when I first felt it. Feeling a connection to someone that you barely know seems crazy and stupid. I guess I am crazy and stupid.

I will tell a friend I love her/him and mean it... but it's different and I still rarely say it. I have said it to one friend recently and meant it, and I believe I may have said it to the woman I love, but I honestly can't remember if I said it to her or only thought about saying it. LOL

So if I ever say those three words to you (and not just 'love ya') know that it is the truth and try not to hurt me by saying it back if you don't mean it. Nothing hurts me worse than hearing those words and finding out they aren't true.
