I am on vacation at the beach in Montauk with BB, my mom, and my brother and his husband. I bought a week pass at a gym that gives discounts to local motels. It's a tiny gym for townies and compulsive tourists but has what it needs to get the job done.
First I did an hour plus a five minute cool down on a Life Fitness outdated stationary bike, Level 10, while lifting weights. What's funny is the current version of the stationary bike produced by Life Fitness is very hard on my back (and apparently I'm not the only one from talking to other fans of the older version). Anyway, I've really missed being able to do the stationary bike, so this was very fun.
Then I did 55 minutes of weight lifting, abs, and yoga in a tiny little room with a high up single small barred window with light shining through. Everything was very bare bones, old, and shabby. I imagined I was in a prison cell working out, but yet I wasn't really in prison so it was quite a nice fantasy.
When I got back to the motel I walked to the ocean (freezing!) and for half an hour I rapidly treaded water / swam to fight the undertow.
Now we are getting ready to grill. I made skewers with organic brussel sprouts, onion, portobello, tomato, carrot, tofu, and marinade. That part isn't exercise but it's a fun part of vacation
