Today the cold snap blew in and it was a high of 41* but in a matter of hours now the temps have dropped down to 35* and it feels like it's 28* outside. Tonight is going to be in low 20's AGAIN and more freezing rain and ice.

There is a small town North of Dallas that has NOT had any gas on since Thursday last week. They had fluid get into the gas lines so they had to shut off everyone's gas there so they could flush out lines and then go door to door and replace meters. I feel for those folks. I really do.
They have been in the cold for a few days with anything they can do to make heat. There are people venting dryers into living rooms to run as heaters and using space heaters, as well as several clothing articles being worn just to stay warm. The entire town was without heat as gas is pretty much the only source for heating that most of them had, unless a few places had central electric heating already. They had to shut down the hospital heating units and the old folks home there because they both used gas as heating source.
They were the first to places that got the gas lines cleared and meters changed out thank heavens.

It's sad that when you rely on natural gas and this happens, you don't have heat in the dead of winter. I hope none of you that use gas up north for heat have this happen to you all there. OMG what a nightmare that would cause up North in this winter storm nightmare we've been having this year.

Stay warm folks and don't get out unless you just have to. Stay safe as well.
