Today my sister and I took our mom to a nice women's clothing store in McKinney, just north of where my parents—I guess I should say my mom—live.

She wanted to find a suit to wear to our dad's memorial service and graveside ceremony. She's lost so much weight, she's down to a size 6 and even tried on some size 4 skirts.

In the end she bought two lovely slacks/skirt/suit jacket sets, one gray and one black. She also got a nice blouse. My sister and I were running back and forth bringing her different sizes and combinations of outfits. In the midst of it all, I got myself a little silk top to wear with my black skirt and sweater.

Afterwards we went to a restaurant and it was very weird, not having him with us and it was awkward to pay for it ourselves, but we're falling into a pattern easily, of taking turns. Today I accomplished moving through the steps of this hard time.
