I met the most lovely woman at the DMV today. We talked for over and hour before she was called up. I learned who she is, where she works, what she hates about her job, where she lives, that she wants/needs knee replacement surgery on both knees, she takes both oral and injectable insulin for her diabetes, she eats every 2-3 hours from anxiety connected to her job, her husband has a barely used Nordic machine in the basement and won't buy her a hot tub, they got screwed over by AAA (they left her husband out in the cold for over 4 hours before he decided to drive the car home on his own.....with no brakes) and that she wants a new car but she doesn't know if she'll be able to work for the next 5 years as she's 62 now. We discussed how freakin' slow the process was and how hard this winter has been. She also had the cutest hot pink and peach sneaks on that I may secretly covet just a little bit.

It was so nice to connect with a living, breathing human being today.
