late at night
thunderstorm caresses hot earth
lightning pierces darkness
burning through my heart
the only sound
wind blowing
the thoughts in my mind
plants quiver reaching out
to be quenched
as does my heart
outside and inside feel the same tonight
synchronicity bringing me peace
this storm and I are one
rain begins to fall cool on my skin
giving life to earth
and my soul
removing my clothes
stretching my torso across the hood
of my neighbors car
feet spread apart
hips following the line of warm metal
face down
long wet hair flowing across red paint
rain beating down on my skin
stinging, cooling, cleansing
cool water quenching my lips
touching my eyes
massaging my shoulders
running from finger tips
following down the
valley of my spine
like a flash flood
and over the roundness of hips
caressing tenderness before
finding the inside of my thighs
and back to waiting earth
taking with it
this storm in me
entranced
cleansed
finally rising
amazed at the marks my lotion
has left
a woman's breasts
waist, hips
thighs
smeared onto the red paint
of my neighbors car
laughing softly, aye bendito
how is hy going to explain that
The story emerged from this poem.
