See Me

I want to be seen as ME
I want you to see ME
Not who you want me to be

I want to be valued for who I am
Not for what I can do for you
I want to to appreciated for what I do
Not for keeping those who dont care from being inconvenienced

I could only wish that you could see me for me
For the world to see me for me

I want to be able to hold my head high
while walking with the one who wants me
To be seen as I see myself ME

The black hole that is life
It sucked it right out of me
Surrounded by darknesss
Consumed by it

Seeking light
Hungry for light
In my mind I see it
But with my eyes I can not

My heart has grown dark
I feel it trying to take over all of me
It has tried to reach out and bring the darkness to others

Light find me
Shine on me
Show me how to defeat the darkness
