Thanks everyone for your responses and support! Today wasn't the day that I stepped away from sugar, but I am preparing for it. Tomorrow I am meeting My niece at the gym she trains at and becoming a member. I will at least have a little support and a friendly face when our schedules jive. I also glued back on the little round thing-a-ma-bobs on the bottom of My practically brand new scales that I have been terrified to get on. So it's coming together, one step at a time. Thanks, again.

Trying to get back into my groove. Hadn't been to the gym since LR. Went Monday and only did the treadmill. Went this morning and did my strength training then brought the kiddo back with me tonight for hip hop dance class. That is one strenuous class, but I love it! |

There isn't anything ugly about this subject. I deal with this on a daily basis and no matter how much walking or any other form of exercise, the crap is still *hanging* out...I refuse to allow anyone to do surgery on me and eventually I will find a non-invasive way to get rid of it.. Last year for Halloween, my ex roommate and I bought several bags of candy to hand out. My problem is that if there is any form of candy in my house, I have to eat it...I will admit this. We ended up having six kids show up<I had two teenage boys come back around for a second trip>. I told them to open up their bags and I dumped the whole bowl into their bags...The kids couldn't believe it..but I didn't want that in my house any longer.. If I do want something sweet, I bought the breakfast cookies from Quaker cereal and I leave those at work to snack on... Zimmeh Quote:

When I was looking up the OA meetings for Rocking, I found that they have them here in Orlando. I am going to try and attend the one this coming Sunday, if I come back in here and tell you all that I didn't go, for whatever reason, please call me and bitch me out. I to have lost my weight and I struggle everyday with trying to control myself when it comes to sweets and other things that are bad for me. I am thinking of when I go to the dentist tomorrow, to ask him to go ahead and put me in the braces to correct my teeth and maybe this well help? I have completely plateaued and I don't know what else to do. I don't do drink soda and I have no desire to do so. I will look up that OA meeting again and see what time it is on Sunday.. When I was at the Reunion, everyone kept saying how beautiful I am, and I couldn't understand why they would say that. In my mind, I hate how I look and that is why I am so shy about changing in front of people and maybe why I pull back from people when they say this to me. I just want this shit to end so I can finally love me for who I am in my own mind. Hugs to all of us and good luck, Zimmeh

I have a bit of an off color sense of humor. Not unlike some of the planeteers I bet. So.... over the years of going to the gym as a fat lady I have come to the conclusion that there is a "Fat Germ". I have been a member of my gym for years and years and in that time I have seen a lot of members and instructors go through. There is a gym culture. Skinny people are always spoken to by the teachers and fellow workout individuals. This, in my twisted sense of dark humor, has led me to conclude that thin people are afraid of the DREADED FAT GERM. I have an entire comedy routine dedicated just to the fat germ. And it truly does amuse me, and has for many years. If you were on a treadmill beside me I swear I would crack you up. You might even mis-step and "fall" off said mill. And then we would both laugh our tom foolery asses off. But not literally ~ cause like that would look funny. But I do think that gym regulars with great bodies are DEADLY afraid of catching it... it has been a good 'weird' people repellant over the years... Well, apparently I have been cured of the fat germ. In the last month I have had people befriend me in my classes. Now these are people who have sweated with me for, some of them, two or three years, and most of them a better part of the year. All of a sudden people are talking to me. I even have one lady offering to set me up because I always come in just under the wire . I say yes, cause hell there has to be some benefit.... to being cured I mean. But... I do miss my guaranteed anonimity. Interesting story ... but I swear all true....

Well, I did it, I joined a gym. I had My first workout tonight and My niece was happy to be My personal trainer, she is a great workout buddy. We did cardio and arms and I got lots of advice from staff about eating protein after your workout , etc. I know these things, but the interest and support is nice. I feel hopeful and a little less isolated. So good stuff! Thanks again for all the support. *s

Weighed this morning and lost another pound. Been kinda slacking for a day or two. Going to see my Aunt and cousins for a week, so won't be much dieting going on. When I get home I am starting what I like to call phase 2 of my weight loss. I will start back taking supplements. I will be taking some of the same, and changing others. I also am going to start a new workout program. I am actually looking forward to it. Hope y'all are having a awesome week!!!

I feel like I am stuck, and I'm trying to stay motivated and not go back into old habits but man it's tough. Long hard day dealing with clients with major emotional stuff, I feel drained and all I want to do is eat junk right now. I normally don't take their *stuff* home with me but I had some hard ones today. I give my clients advice all day long on weight loss and how healthy eating is so important for them especially when in recovery of an illness, and I don't even want to take my own advice. BLAH! |

Rep Power: 21474854 | Yesterday was an interesting day.. had some great points, and a not so great point.. - went grocery shopping with a friend of mine, and loaded up on the healthy stuff, but was fun to share my tips with her...and to get home with a lot of things to maintain my healthy journey! - made plans with another dear friend of mine (we were best friends in elementary school and reunited just recently through facebook) to go for a walk..We went to a lake nearby and walked trails, which was great fun.. lots of laughs & great exercise.. cept a lil excessive, because we got lost in the woods and luckily got out just before dark.. it was a good thing i was with her & not alone or i would have panic'd badly.. It was near freezing, and when we got home , cold had really set in.. we were very lucky, but together we stayed calm and retraced our steps and eventually found our way... - what would have been an hour walk, turned into a 4 hour walk (16km which is about 10 miles, i believe...) we kept warm by continuously walking.. two gabby girls, thinking they knew where they were going and then standing in the middle of nowhere with no clue where to go.. oy! lol..Next time, we'll walk so far, turn around and go back unless we're absolutely sure of where we are going.. so needless to say, got my exercise in for yesterday!

Rep Power: 21474854 | so i have a question, not sure if any of you can help but thought i would try.. In light of the subject between Rockin and Zimmeh, about loose skin.. i am curious, is it something that can be worked on during weight loss, like specific exercises geared towards toning for instance? or will the hanging skin always be an issue until surgery.. i ask this because of my arms, i do have some flabby there, but i still have a lot of weight to lose, so not sure if i can tone that flab as i go or if i will always be stuck with it...i probably won't know until i lose all the weight i want, but now i'm scared i will have super flabby arms even if i lose more weight, super self conscious about my arms... my rear, my legs, my tummy, i'm losing in all of those places very good, actually.. Especially my tummy, i'm super surprised how much i've lost there, i think i've lost more weight in my tummy than anywhere else, so far.. i do a lot of walking, which is doing well for the butt and legs, of course.. i've noticed big differences with those as well.. my arms however, not so much.. So i know i need to step it up exercisewise.. time to start some weights again, and i may research some exercises to really gear towards losing the weight there too.. Funny i asked that question, now that i reread it, i guess it's not something any of you can answer, and nothing i can know until i actually lose the remaining weight, lol.. Obviously, exercise in the arms will help tone some, guess i'll just have to weight and see.. Think i am just obsessing this a bit right now, when i worry i obsess (not in a healthy way either)... i wish i could just lose it all successfully and be the healthy perfect body i am aiming for, without any flab anywhere.. i really don't want surgery, to be honest... If i could do it naturally in any way, i would much prefer that is all, and just wondering if i should be doing something more, now to help avoid it ... make sense? makes sense in my head, dangerous place to be sometimes though, LOL!
