Been checking on the wellbeing of the 3 eaglets in the wild nest outside of the eagle sanctuary at Dollywood.

The nest has been a problem this year due to a steady flow of man made crap arriving with the fish for the youngsters i.e. fishing line, hooks, and a piece of aluminum siding.

Two prior rescues were needed to remove the debris and one eaglet was removed after it swallowed a hook. That was removed successfully and it was returned to the nest.

Despite efforts to clean up the areas where the parents are fishing, the problem continued.

A couple of days ago, the decision was made to remove all three eaglets from the nest to ensure their safety and survival. They were moved to the hack tower, a simulated, enclosed nesting area where they will be watched, fed, and cared for until they are ready to fledge.
