I dont like open enrollment period for medicare d plans - drug plans. Just when I think I have figure out all their methods to maximize their profits at senior citizens expense, I find they have a new way to do it.

This year, it is establishing preferred in-network pharmacies separate from in-network pharmacies. Preferred pharmacies usually have 0 co-pays. Network pharmacies have higher out of pocket expenses.

Plus, many companies have narrowed their pharmacy networks period. So a pharmacy chain that was part of the network last year, isnt this year.

And Mom wonders why it takes me 2 weeks every year before I can advise her as to the least costly plan to meet her needs.
