How do I smile this shame inside,
My life isn't theirs why do I hide,
Do I tell them or live in this lie,
Feeling pressure in this society's eye.

I'm different I guess however still me,
I shattered the dream of this future they see,
What i've become well I am who I am,
Confused and alone in this world that I stand.

Do you love enough to stand by me in life,
I deny this tradition of a man and a wife,
Inside me i'm still the daughter you knew,
With a different life just keeping me true.

I know it will be forbidden by some,
I tried to fight it but the battle was won,
Let me be happy not live in a lie,
It's not a phase I no longer deny.

A lesbian woman in this path that I tread,
Don't look at me like I have sins to be bled,
Just love me be proud of this woman you see,
I'm still your daughter just now being me.
