The Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto is a must for anyone who thinks they "know shoes".
It's remarkable; a true treat for shoe-lovers; the history of "shoes" from prehistoric times; Chinese foot-bnding; the fashions through the European Renaissance; the weirdness of our beloved Sixties; basically everything humans decided to wear on their feet to protect them form sharp stones and scorpions to turning "foot protection" into-class defined fashion. And a lot about what you wear now and who got you there. Think you know shoes? Go there and see how we got to where we got. It's such interesting fun.
