Last night we went to watch (and support) our local high school baseball team. The past two years our team has won the state championship title, so we’re hoping for a third title. But back to last night, lol: our team struggled to get on the board. We watched the other team heckle and jeer on their teammates to out-best our team, which was taking a toll on our team. Bullying is not an acceptable team tactic, so our team finally got on the scoreboard by the sixth inning. It was scary, watching them bully our team. But the boys on our team did not participate in their brand of cheer. They demonstrated leadership in the sportsmanship department, which of course made us super proud of them.
We won the game by six point lead in the top of the 7th inning. ![]() Hopefully our team does well against the competing team from a rich neighborhood. Sometimes it’s better to get off to a late start. At least it was like this last night. Three cheers for teams who practice good sportsmanship.
