I'm looking forward to a book on Pres. Biden. This is how I see things and I'd like to know the back stories to Biden's terms as VP and POTUS.

Most Presidents get a shot at a 2nd term and Biden wanted a shot at 2024. He refused to go down without a fight. I don’t blame him.

Biden should have ran in 2016 (and 2020—if 2016 had been successful), but I think the DNC and Obama made a deal with Hillary Clinton and supported her run in 2016 (for her support of Obama in 2008). For Hillary's support, I think Obama promised her any job she wanted (other than VP?). I thought she would take a seat on the Supreme Court, but she wanted to be a policy maker in Barack's administration and she wanted to run as POTUS in 2016, pushing Biden out. Well, Hillary didn't win in 2016 and Joe Biden got the support to beat Trump in 2020. I can only imagine how victorious he felt and how annoyed that he wasn't able to beat Trump in 2016.

Of course Biden thought he'd run again in 2024 after winning 2020, but he's old, useless as POTUS, and Democrats were ready to drag his ass out of the White House if they had to. I understand.

In all of this, Biden has behaved like an adult. No whining, no blaming, no threats nor bullying. None of that Trump bullsh*t. Biden knows it’s over and has bowed out gracefully, giving VP Harris his full support, as he should.

I’m glad I voted for him and would have voted for him had he been the nominee for 2024.

I hope someone writes about this going back to the deals made in 2008 by Biden, Clinton, Obama and others.

Makes me wonder what deals are currently being made that will affect politics and policies for the next 15-20 years.

Thank you for your thoughtful response and comments! I share in your process because I too would like to read a good book written by someone who has thoroughly given the subject incredible thought and provided the investigative research and citations to support such and endeavor.

If you come across that book one day, please post about it, ok?

I have had dreams at night about who Kamala will pick for her cabinet members. I dreamed she picked Mark Kelly as her Secretary of State and reappointed several members of other agencies who were robbed of their life long careers in public service.

The Democratic Convention is just two weeks away or so.

Kamala Harris will name her VP on August 7th or 8th.

Please keep us posted as things progress forward.

Looking forward to her pick, but I'm not invested in the VP. I know VP Harris will choose someone competent and capable. Her choice will get my vote. I'm here for the Blue.

Democrats are going to have a good time at the DNC convention in a couple weeks in Chicago. I got rid of cable but I'm going to have get some kind of live hook up for the convention and the election. Probably Sling Blue.

I heard an interesting interview with Pete Buttigieg on The Daily podcast from the NY Times for July 27, 2024. He was insightful, well spoken and straightforward, as usual. He gave his thoughts on how the election scene has changed since Joe Biden stepped down, and what a Harris presidency might look like.

One small tidbit: the Harris campaign has taken to calling T---p "weird"; and not so much the sign of the "End Times" or despoiler of virgins or the foreteller of Fascism in America. I love this, "weird", in a marketing way. It says a lot about some smart people on Harris's campaign staff. A casual word like "weird" sets Kamala apart as one of a younger generation. It's not as threatening or dire as some of the other phrases that the DNC has used. It's not awkward. (Remember Hillary's "basket of deplorables" to describe Magats?)

Available wherever you get your podcasts.

Like Pres. Obama, VP Harris doesn't deny her heritage from either of her parents, but in many instances it's not up to the person how they identify—it's how the world sees them.

I love this quote from VP Harris...
“My mother understood very well that she was raising two Black daughters,” Harris wrote in her now-bestselling memoir “The Truths We Hold.” “She knew that her adopted homeland would see Maya and me as Black girls, and she was determined to make sure we would grow into confident, proud Black women.” That was before Harris attended a historically Black college and joined a Black sorority. (citation)
THIS is the reason many (smart) parents raise their bi- and multi-racial children as Black.

"Black" is how many bi- and multi-racial people will be seen and treated based on their looks (every bi- and multi-racial person doesn't look like Halsey, Wentworth Miller or Derek Jeter and they don't have to worry about being "stopped and frisked" or driving while Black). The choice is based on common sense and not because of loyalty or commitment to one race or ethnicity.

Just got through sifting through top news stories at MSNBC & CNN: President Joe Biden was able to finally bring home two US citizens jailed by Putin’s Russia; and, the sad fact that the GOP keep blocking important Democratic legislation meant to help *all* Americans. You’d think the Magat GOP would realize that the 99% of American citizens are BEYOND tired of how they don’t work for our best interest. Hopefully the biggest wave of Blue voters will upend their long overdue firing (being fired) from their so called congressional law making.

I think I read somewhere too that Kamala Harris’ first stop on the campaign trail will be in Philadelphia. Hopefully, both Kamala and her VP will stop by the huge LOVE exhibit statue downtown and do a photo op.

Cause that be real Love.

💙 Love💙

I’m really glad that Kamala Harris picked Gov Tim Walz as her VP.

It’s hard to read the proverbial ‘tea leaves’ where our next president might pick for her cabinet, but former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown speculated recently that she might pick Gavin Newsome for a role in her cabinet. Which I think would be super progressive to have such an articulate person on her team.

https://sfstandard.com/2024/07/25/wi...-cabinet-role/

I also hope Josh Shapiro and Andy Beshear can be a part of her team: whether as outstanding governors of their states or a cabinet position too.

I know the US prosecutor attorney community is super tight. Maybe we will get a team of legal eagles known as the K-Team.

Until the next wave of good news,

—K.
