She also happened to be a great ally of the gay community, after Rock Hudson died of AIDS.
I'll miss her commercials for White Diamonds. Years ago, I read her book "Elizabeth Takes Off" about her weight struggles, and she was a very open and honest person. She will be missed. ETA: TCM will be showing her films on April 10 in tribute.
