I also don't remember going to fair's or carnivals growing up. The closest thing was Seaside boardwalk or the Italian festival in Elizabeth.
The boardwalk had the best pizza and sausage, peppers and onions on a nice soggy hoagie roll. and at the italian festival, my favorite were the zeppoles (belly sinkers)
