To make scream the mind Until you write in white on white Invisible words Over and over Layers on layers Written but not seen And never spoken All those words that tear at you Until you have to stand so carefully still Mustn't show how they hurt When some are spoken from such innocent lips Who can know that it is a dirty word in your ears but you?

In the forest of the night
I glimpsed a tiger burning bright In his rage and my despair He happened to catch me standing there I did not run Though he gave chase I stared that tiger in the face In my fear I was surprised To see humanity in his eyes So as I stood He did kneel And in my mind I knew he did feel He was sad for he was real
