Any thoughts on this. Interesting that the parents are referring to her as gay.

I watched this with great interest. I am happy that parents are opening up their minds concerning their youngsters. Her Mother acknowledged she had looked on line and found transgender. Maybe they just are not as educated in the trans arena as hopefully they will be in the future.

I was glad to see that they interviewed someone who had transitioned and then transitioned back. I was speaking with someone a week or so ago airing my concern that there is so much information out there now and so many procedures that young people can move right on with their transition. Which is of course their choice. My issue with that is I wonder how many have transitioned at a young adult age and regretted it and changed back or would if they could. The guy they interviewed transitioned in his late 30's and then back in his mid 40's so it's not that only young people might regret it I just think that young people are more spontaneous. I sure would have been.

I was saddened to see the last trans woman was "escorting" to raise the money for her surgeries. I think I was also saddened that these children on the DOC obviously have had much the same experience as many on this site, knowing they were in the wrong body at such a young age. What saddens me is that they can't go ahead and transition so that there is almost no history of their wrong gender to have to explain or cover up or contend with the questions and all that sort of thing later in their lives.
And yes I do realize this also could result in transitioning back or the you were the parent fuss...why did you let me do that etc...

I watched it as well and was impressed. Not only was it informative but I felt they covered all angles and not just one side which was refreshing to see.

I also was saddened beyond words to see the last girl "escorting" my heart goes out to her. I really hope at some point and time the insurance companies start covering transitions.

I have this recorded but have not had a chance to watch it yet. I applaud and support anyone who has the courage to become on the outside what they feel on the inside and I wish you all the best. My ex would have done so if she could, had checked out gender reassignment surgery and just did not see anyway she would have been able to afford it. I can really relate to what the life is like as a partner since we were together 15 years. I don't know what else to say lol.

Jackie is so lucky to have such angels for parents that didn't try to force her to be something that she could not be. What a beautiful story! Fuck you grandpa! We might have to watch that, thanks for letting us know. It's just not right for human beings to have to be so suppressed.

I totally agree Jackie's parents are amazing as was her whole family at the reunion....she is such a lucky little girl
