My boss likes to put hers in the microwave for a few seconds. She says it's like a tiny burst of chocolate when you bite into them. I have yet to try this for the fear of doing it wrong and making a mess in the microwave. I prefer peanut M&M's, eaten a few at a time not paying attention to color.
